Is lil wayne taking cues from a stylist or the lean in his cup?

the whole vma's look was crazy...is he morphing into a rock star...im all for the diversity but the oversized skinny jeans look was ridiculous, then the damn red pants and plaid vest, and now with the lip ring? what is goin on and is this new look acceptable to anyone else? i hope this is not a sign he is veering off into that zone of wasted talent like lauryn hill where he will change and just get wierd.
