True cause of the Confederate States of America?

neither side should be proud of their part in slavery. While many in the south felt that allowing slaves freedom would mean an increase in violence and a decrease in production, many northerners did nothing to hide their own animosity towards former slaves or towards slaves holding paying jobs. It is a complex issue....not the reason for the secession, but a large part nonetheless.
